Healing Grace

Healing Grace

2 Corinthians 12:8-9 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.”

When you get to the edge of yourself you can finally set your eyes on God and get to the beginning of your purpose. What do I mean by that? When we get to the edge of ourselves we are broken. Life has chewed us up and spit us out and we are filled with guilt for all the wrong decisions we made. We feel lost and abandoned but Gods word says we are not lost “My Grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” That scripture gives me hope. I am at the edge of myself Lord, there’s is no lower I can get, no more I can give. I realize I am completely powerless. God says, good now we can finally get to work.

How does God begin to heal us? First by changing our thinking, Romans 12:2 Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. We have to stop looking in the mirror and only seeing our faults and start seeing ourselves by how God sees us because of his Grace.

If you’re a new Christian maybe you don’t understand how God does see us. 1 Peter 2:9 You have been chosen by God himself. In other words, I am acceptable. God has chosen me. No matter what I have done, who I have hurt, God has chosen me. I am not only acceptable to God but I am valuable. 1 John 4:4 You belong to God. Isa. 43:4 God says, “you are precious to me.” But you say God look at all I have done? Look at how many times I have messed it all up. God answers with 2 Timothy 3:16 The Whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. God is saying I love you, I don’t care how much you have got it wrong, I have given you the Bible to straighten you all out. God also says you are forgiven in Isa. 43:25 I am the God who forgives your sins, and I do this because of who I am. I will not hold your sins against you.

How amazing and awesome is it to know that there is a God ready to wrap his loving arms around us and wipe our tears away and basically say, you never have to look back, you never have to believe for another second that you are not loved, forgiven, accepted and valuable to me. Once we really get that understanding in our minds and our heart and just let our Great God into our soul and transform us we can really start to understand our purpose.

And what is our true purpose? It’s not a job title or wealth. I believe we can find our true purpose in 2 Corinthians 6:3 We try to live in such a way that no one will ever be offended or kept back from finding the Lord by the way we act. So that no one can find fault with us and blame it on the Lord. In fact, in everything we do we try to show that we are true ministers of God.

The question then becomes, am I capable and the answer is yes. Phil 4:13 I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me. I am ready for anything and equal to anything through him who infuses inner strength into me, that is, I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. Soak that scripture up for a minute. You are capable because you are God’s vessel. He is moving and working through you. His healing Grace has made it possible to hit the reset button on your life. You get a clean slate, he gives you the Bible as your life handbook and he gives you your purpose for being a human on this earth.

Now the only question remains….What are you going to do with all of this? My suggestion is you open your heart up wide, allow God to just keep pouring his whole self into you and be a beacon of light in this world of darkness. As the children song goes, This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, LET IT SHINE!
