Worry-anger-anxiety-fear……all emotions that there is plenty of right now. I can’t hardly sit and watch the news these days. I think to myself…where are you God? Where are you in all of this? Everyday I have to lay it all at God’s feet. All the emotions that I know is not from God I have to continually lay it down, day after day. It’s a crazy balancing act because I want to stay informed but there is only so much bad news a person can take in one day.
When I struggle with my emotions I try to stay in my Bible more. The devil would love nothing more than to keep me distracted with worry-anger-anxiety-fear but I cannot let him get a foothold. I need to put on my armor and refuse to give into negative emotions. I cannot allow myself to get stuck. I believe what is so important is to open up my Bible more in times like these. Search the scriptures on love and grace. Learn to be tolerant and open minded. The Bible can teach us all these things. I refuse, especially today, to have my heart hardened by all the negativity the world is dishing out.
Worry is the warning light that God has been shoved to the sidelines. When worry-anger-anxiety-fear start to consume you check where you left God. Is he still in the drivers seat? Most likely the answer is no. I wanted to write scripture that could best be applied today as we watch the news and our hearts ache for all that we are bombarded with everyday. I hope and pray the following scriptures can help you also. I want it to motivate you to open up your Bible and search the scriptures and see what God reveals to you.
Micah 6:8 No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you; to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.

Luke 6:27-29 But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.

Psalm 121:1-2 I lift my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed. I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
